Tech and Food Services
Hello food lovers everywhere! Now most of you are expecting to read a post on a restaurant, cafe, or food item located in the Syracuse area. This post is slightly different than a typically Chus on Chow entry, but I hope you find my message intriguing and tasteful. My name is Cory Goodenough and I work for the technology startup company SnagMobile, which provides mobile ordering solutions intended for use by food service industries.
Imagine yourself at a ‘Cuse game in the dome. The score is tied and there are only a few minutes left in the second half. You’re craving for some nachos and a drink, but don’t want to leave your seat to battle the concession lines while missing the action of the game. With the SnagMobile app you could order and pay for your concessions on your smartphone, and then have the items delivered to your seat or available for pick up at an express window. Food at your fingertips without ever leaving your seat!
Although SnagMobile was initially designed for use by stadiums, it has expanded its services to restaurants, hotels, resorts, golf courses, and other venues. SnagMobile is helping venues put their menu and ordering options in the customer’s pocket (or purse, or wherever smartphones are stowed). Restaurants who order the SnagMobile service can put their menu on the application and immediately start receiving food orders for take-out or delivery. Hotels can receive room service orders and other requests from guests through the web. Golfers can use their phones to order a cheddar burger and beer on the 7th hole and have them ready for pick up at the turn. If you would like to have this level of food ordering convenience at your fingertips, encourage your favorite restaurant, hotel, or golf course to check out the SnagMobile website!
So why did I reach out to the Chus? SnagMobile is one of five finalists in the Startup Labs Business Competition taking place at the Tech Garden in Syracuse, NY. As you know, the Chus are based out of Syracuse and I was hoping to spread the word about Snag within local food circles. If anyone would like more information on the Startup Lab Competition (winner receives $150k!) please check out the following link: Startup Labs Competition.
The SnagMobile service platform plays towards two audiences: the purchasers of the software and the end users. For venue owners (software purchasers), SnagMobile is offering a new software package d starting at $49/month. The package includes a free Nexus 7 tablet with order tracking, a comprehensive online menu builder, and marketing materials. For the food and beverage consumers (end users), there is a free SnagMobile mobile application available on the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). For more information on the company and the SnagMobile services check out snagmobile.com. Thanks for reading and I hope you all continue to enjoy the great eats of Syracuse, and maybe in the near future you will be able to save time and Snag your food without the lines, travel, and hassle.
