Dave and I just did a little taste test on three brands of whole organic milk. All three can be bought at the Price Chopper on Erie Blvd. Dave didn’t know which brand he was tasting, and although I did, I formed my opinion about each one before he said anything. As it turns out, we agreed on everything. The results:
Amish Country Farms was the winner, with a taste that was richer, more buttery and sweeter than the others.
Next was Organic Valley, which was fairly rich but bland-tasting.
Last was the Price Chopper version, which we agreed was bland and “skimmy.”
All three actually tasted pretty good, but since the Amish Country Farms brand is only 30 cents more per half-gallon than the Price Chopper brand and less than Organic Valley, we’ll be drinking this one from now on. I’ll probably switch to that brand for all the yogurt I make, too. One day we’ll test the Wegman’s brand against the Amish brand.
